So I never posted about my family's trip to California and its been so long now I don't remember exactly what we did on what day... But here goes.
We went back to the Mormon battalion visitors center. Hayden got to dress up as a member of the battalion. So cute! They took our picture at the end. We had to cram for the picture but we all fit!
We went to the Maritime museum in San Diego right on the harbor (it's 5 ships that they have turned into museums and they were super fun to walk in and look at old artifacts and read stories of the people who lived on these ships! They had wax people in the ships... Those I could have done without... Creepy!
We went to the San Diego temple on our way back up to LA. Zac and I had never stopped there and my family had never been so we made a pit stop ;) It's my favorite temple! I'm so grateful for temples and that families can be together forever!
Go Dodgers! We got to go to a dodgers game too! Good baseball, good cheering, good family, and good ballpark food... ;) We got t-shirts to wear to the game and it was free hat night at Dodgers stadium so we were all sporting our Dodgers gear. p.s. they won!
We went to Disneyland and California adventure.. But we were too busy having fun I didn't get any pics!
We met up with the Nielsen family who moved out here from Indiana. It was so good to see them! We spent the fourth of July with them and grilled out. The next day we went to the beach... It was freezing! But still so fun!!!
Lucky Taryn got to spend her birthday down here so we made sure to make it a special day for her ;) We went to Red Lobster for dinner and had a cookie cake for dessert after she opened her presents.
We had a fun-filled week. Constant go go go! It was so good to see all of them and I'm so excited for my next visit to Indiana in November ( for 2 weeks!)
New news for Zac and I... Our fridge broke last week and we ended up having to buy a new one. Yep, we put our big kid pants on and went to the store picked one out and they delivered it yesterday... It's times like these that I wish I didn't have to be a grown up...
Also, I got a job!!! I'm a nanny and it's the best job ever! Perfect hours, perfect kids, perfect pay! Gotta love jobs that don't feel like jobs ;)
We are coming to Idaho in September for a week and are super excited.
That's all the news for us!
P.S. sorry about all the spelling typos and punctuation problems... I'm doing this from my phone and it's more difficult for me than doing it on my computer.
Love to all!! Until next time (when I have something exciting to blog about).

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!!
So this past weekend was Memorial Day and we were so grateful for a three day weekend. We took a little mini vacation down to San Diego. Friday night we drove down to San Juan Capistrano and stayed the night with Zac's sister and her husband. We went to dinner at a delicious pizza place and met some of their friends and just visit. It was so fun to be able to see them.
Saturday we headed down to San Diego to make a day of it. We started out at Kobey's Swap Meet. We have been before and we absolutely love it! They have everything there! It's so fun just to walk around and look at all the cool stuff. We spent a couple hours there and then headed to The Mormon Battalion Visitors Center. We found this while researching different things to do in San Diego and it was #3 on the list. Crazy! I had no idea this was down there. It was absolutely interesting and definitely very humbling. If you are ever down in San Diego I highly recommend going. It was a great piece of American and Church history. It only takes 35 minutes of your time too. After that we decided to go on a 2 hour Harbor Cruise. It was very fun! However, kinda pricey for the amount of things you see... Maybe our expectations were too high but the website said that we would see 50 plus sites in San Diego so we thought this would be an awesome way to see them all. That wasn't the case. However it was very fun for a one time thing and the best parts of the cruise were the sea lions (they were so cute!), and the Coronado Bridge which extends from San Diego to Coronado Island over the ocean. We have driven on it before but this cruise took us under it and we were able to see the giant concrete posts holding this bridge in the air from the ocean floor. Amazing. Believe it or not those 3 activities took us all day. But all were very fun. Sunday we woke up and Zac's sister made us delicious pancakes and we washed our car and just hung out and talked with her. We left later that afternoon to come home. On Monday, we did some shopping but mostly just relaxed and got ready for today!
We had a well needed long weekend. We hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well celebrating a wonderful day of the year that we are able to think about the men and women who have fought, are fighting, and will fight for our country and our freedom. Thank you to all those who are serving our wonderful country.
Have a good week everybody!

California!!!!
Well, I wish I was better at this whole blogging thing... We have been in California for about 3.5 months now and we could not love it more. You have to look past the cost of living, taxes, and gas prices. Other than that though it's amazing! The weather is ALWAYS warm, our ward family is so welcoming and kind, we live 2 miles from the beach, and all the shopping you could even imagine is right across the street. Although we have all kinds of shopping across the street we seem to do most of our shopping online these days as you can get so many things for so much cheaper than stores!!
Zac is still loving his job with Murad and is becoming more efficient in his work. I have taken to cooking and have fallen in love! I follow several blogs and exchange recipes with my sister in law and I'm finally getting better at trying new recipes and also altering them to fit our needs. It's been so fun!
I have also just found out that my family is coming to visit us in 1.5 months!! (June 30th-July 7th). I am so excited to see them as I haven't seen them since Taryn's wedding back in September. There is so much to do down here... so we will be super busy that week :)
We are going to San Diego over Memorial Day weekend! We aren't quite sure what we are going to do down there yet, but we love San Diego! It's so beautiful there.
One last thing... I would like to give a shout out to my momma. She is a wonderful woman and I'm so grateful to have her as my mother as she is the best mother in the world (i'm not biased though). She has taught me many wonderful things in life and I'm so grateful for her example.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!
